Built With Hedgehog (“we”, “us”) is a small business based in Queensland, Australia. This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through the contact form on our website, and what we learn from people visiting it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

When you fill out our contact form, we collect:
We also note which button on our site you clicked to open the form, and where you came to the site from, such as a link in one of our social posts. That tells us which part of the site you were reading when you got in touch, and which posts are worth making more of. Your browser holds that detail for the length of your visit and forgets it when you close the tab.
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit our site, which pages they read, and where they came from. It saves small files called cookies in your browser so it can tell a first visit from a return one. It doesn’t tell us who you are, and we don’t use it to follow you around the rest of the internet.
Google stores this data in the United States. If you’d rather not be counted, you can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
So we can reply to your enquiry properly. We ask for a bit more than a name and email so our first reply can be about your business, not a generic “thanks for reaching out.”

We only send marketing emails if you tick the opt-in box on the form. We send them ourselves, from our own inbox. Every email tells you how to unsubscribe, or you can email us and we’ll take you off the list.
When you hit submit, your details pass through these services:
Our workflow sorts enquiries using simple, fixed rules (if this, then that). No AI reads, scores or makes decisions about your information. A real person on our team reads every enquiry.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone outside the services above unless the law requires us to.
Because of the services we use, your information is stored outside Australia, in the United States and Malaysia. We choose providers with strong privacy and security commitments, and we control the server that runs our own workflow.
Only people on our team who need your information can access it. Your details are encrypted as they travel between the services we use.
If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we work together, plus however long the law requires after that. If you don’t, we delete your enquiry after 12 months.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email admin@builtwithhedgehog.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email admin@builtwithhedgehog.com. We’ll look into it and respond within 30 days.
If you’re still not satisfied after that, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
